Usedom, eine wunderschöne Insel in der südlichen Ostsee, ist durch den Peenestrom und das Stettiner Haff vom Festland getrennt. 1995, also noch relativ kurz nach der Wende, verbrachten wir dort einen einwöchigen Osterurlaub. Mit unseren neuen Fahrrädern erkundeten wir große Teile der Insel und entdeckten unter anderem diese herrliche Lindenallee bei Krummin. Wie das Bild zeigt, handelt es sich um einen typischen Betonplattenweg aus DDR-Zeiten, allerdings einen recht komfortablen, ohne die üblichen Löcher in den Platten, die Beton sparen sollten und den Radfahrern besonders zusetzten. Insofern war dieser Weg schon recht komfortabel zu befahren. Dennoch machte sich nach einiger Zeit mein Hintern deutlich bemerkbar, sodass ich die Strecke nicht mehr so richtig genießen konnte. Das Foto entstand während einer kurzen „Hintern schonen Pause“.

Usedom, a beautiful island in the southern Baltic Sea, is separated from the mainland by the Peene River and the Szczecin Lagoon. In 1995, relatively soon after reunification, we spent a one-week Easter holiday there. We explored large parts of the island on our new bicycles and discovered, among other things, this marvellous avenue of lime trees near Krummin. As the picture shows, this is a typical concrete slab path from the GDR era, albeit a fairly comfortable one, without the usual holes in the slabs, which were intended to save concrete and were particularly hard on cyclists. In this respect, the path was quite comfortable to cycle on. Nevertheless, after a while my bum started to make itself clearly felt, so that I could no longer really enjoy the route. The photo was taken during a short ‘butt rest’ break.
