Am unteren Bodetal bei Thale war ich 1994 zum ersten Mal, also noch relativ kurz nach der Wende, bei einem Ausflug von Braunschweig aus. Später lernte ich den Oberlauf der Bode bei vielen Harztouren nach Schierke am Brocken genauer kennen. Auch die Bodeschlucht habe ich mehrfach durchwandert und zweimal am Unterlauf der Bode bei Thale in einem kleinen Hotel direkt am Flussufer, mitten im Naturschutzgebiet, übernachtet. Dieser wunderschöne Blick das Flusstal entlang in Kombination mit der schönen Lichtstimmung gelang mir schon beim ersten Besuch 1994. Seitdem habe ich es noch ein paar Mal versucht, aber manchmal ist der erste Versuch einfach der Beste.
The Bode

I visited the lower Bode valley near Thale for the first time in 1994, relatively soon after reunification, on an excursion from Braunschweig. Later, I got to know the upper reaches of the Bode more closely on many Harz tours to Schierke near the Brocken. I also hiked through the Bode Gorge several times and stayed overnight twice on the lower reaches of the Bode near Thale in a small hotel right on the banks of the river in the middle of the nature reserve. I managed to capture this wonderful view along the river valley in combination with the beautiful light atmosphere on my first visit in 1994. I’ve tried a few more times since then, but sometimes the first attempt is simply the best.
