Die Bunker direkt am Strandzugang zum Sommerhaus in Søndervig haben im Laufe der Jahre ihre Position am Strand massiv verändert. Mal lagen sie ganz dicht am Dünenfuß, dann wieder mitten auf dem Strand, manchmal direkt an der Wasserkante, und gelegentlich schauten sie nur knapp aus dem Wasser heraus oder waren sogar für ein ganzes Jahr lang verschwunden. Wenn es damals, während meines Studiums, die heutigen Möglichkeiten der genauen Satellitenpositionsbestimmung gegeben hätte, hätte ich sicherlich versucht, die Bewegungen der Bunker zu verfolgen. Ich bin überzeugt, dass die „Bewegungen“ eine Kombination aus Veränderungen des Strandes und den Verschiebungen der Bunker selbst durch beispielsweise Unterspülung sind. Wie dem auch sei, in diesem Herbst lagen diese eher kleinen Bunker auf jeden Fall optimal zur Brandungslinie, sodass die schweren Wellen direkt auf die Bunker trafen und phantastische Gischtfontänen auslösten. Trotz des Sturmes war das Licht gut, wodurch diese spektakulären Bilder entstehen konnten.

The bunkers directly at the beach access to the summer house in Søndervig have changed their position on the beach massively over the years. Sometimes they were very close to the foot of the dunes, sometimes in the middle of the beach, sometimes right at the water’s edge, and occasionally they only just peeked out of the water or even disappeared for a whole year. If today’s possibilities of precise satellite positioning had been available during my studies, I would certainly have tried to track the movements of the bunkers. I am convinced that the ‘movements’ are a combination of changes in the beach and the shifting of the bunkers themselves due to, for example, undercutting. Be that as it may, this autumn these rather small bunkers were in any case perfectly positioned in relation to the surf line, so that the heavy waves hit the bunkers directly and triggered fantastic fountains of spray. Despite the storm, the light was good, allowing these spectacular pictures to be taken.
