Die Atlantikküste Fuerteventuras präsentiert sich als eine Landschaft von atemberaubender Vielfalt und Faszination. Wandert man von Ajuy zum Brandungstor Peña Horadada, trifft man auf dem Weg die Caleta Negra, eine Bucht mit geheimnisvollen Lavahöhlen, die einst Piraten als Unterschlupf dienten. In der Umgebung wurde zudem Kalk abgebaut und vom Hafen der Caleta Negra aus verschifft. Die Überreste dieses alten Hafens, der den mächtigen Wellen des Atlantiks zum Opfer fiel, sind noch heute sichtbar. Die Anlage wurde in den Fels gehauen und Teile des Piers sowie die zum Wasser führenden Stufen sind noch erkennbar.
An diesem windigen Tag wagte sich ein Angler auf eine kleine Plattform knapp oberhalb des Piers und fügte sich harmonisch in das Bild ein, das aus dem alten Hafen und dem brodelndem Atlantik besteht. In diesem Bild wird die gewaltige Kraft der Naturgewalten eindrucksvoll sichtbar.

The Atlantic coast of Fuerteventura presents itself as a landscape of breathtaking diversity and fascination. Walking from Ajuy to the Peña Horadada surf gate, you will come across Caleta Negra, a bay with mysterious lava caves that once served as a hideout for pirates. Lime was also quarried in the surrounding area and shipped from the port of Caleta Negra. The remains of this old port, which fell victim to the powerful waves of the Atlantic, are still visible today. The structure was carved into the rock, and parts of the pier and the steps leading down to the water are still recognisable.
On this windy day, a fisherman ventured onto a small platform just above the pier and blended harmoniously into the picture consisting of the old harbour and the seething Atlantic Ocean. This image impressively reveals the tremendous power of the forces of nature.
