Nach viertägiger Wanderung durch das enge Tal des Marsyandi war es eine Wohltat, in die Weite des Tals von Thal zu treten.
Das Tal entstand durch einen mächtigen Felssturz, der das ehemals enge Flusstal abriegelte und einen See aufstaute, bis das Wasser sich einen neuen Abfluss schaffen konnte. Der ehemals sedimentierte Seeboden bildet heute den ebenen und fruchtbaren Talboden, durch den der Marsyandi wieder fließt.
Am Ende dieser Talweitung liegt heute das Dorf Thal. Dort befindet sich auch der Wasserfall, den ich beim zweiten Trek intensiver fotografieren konnte. Das Ergebnis ist, wie ich finde, sehr gut gelungen.

After a four-day hike through the narrow Marsyandi Valley, it was a relief to step into the wide expanse of the Thal Valley.
The valley was created by a massive rockslide that blocked the formerly narrow river valley and dammed up a lake until the water was able to create a new outlet. The former sedimented lake bed now forms the flat and fertile valley floor through which the Marsyandi flows again.
At the end of this valley widening lies the village of Thal. There is also a waterfall there, which I was able to photograph more intensively during my second trek. I think the result is very good.
