Der Besseggen ist ein Gebirgsgrat im Jotunheimen-Nationalpark, der den Gjendesee vom Bessvatnet trennt. Der Name \u201eBesseggen\u201c bedeutet sinngem\u00e4\u00df \u201eSensengrat\u201c. Die beiden Seen sind durch eine nur etwa 50 Meter breite Landformation namens Bandet voneinander getrennt. Einzigartig ist jedoch nicht der schmale Grat selbst, sondern der H\u00f6henunterschied der beiden Seen von fast 400 Metern. Dieser immense Unterschied macht den Reiz dieser Wanderung aus und ist auf dem Bild besonders gut zu erkennen.<br>Nachdem wir in der H\u00fctte Memurubu \u00fcbernachtet hatten, brachen wir am fr\u00fchen Morgen in Richtung unseres Ziels Gjendeheim auf. Dieses Bild zeigt den Blick nach vorne auf den Besseggengrat, der noch vor uns lag. Links im Bild ist das hochgelegene Bessvatnet zu sehen, w\u00e4hrend sich rechts der deutlich tiefer gelegene, langgezogene Gjendesee erstreckt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10)\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-garamond-font-family has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);font-style:italic;font-weight:700\">The Besseggengrade<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-garamond-font-family has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);font-style:italic;font-weight:400\"><br>Jotunheimen National Park in Norway, 1996<br><br>The Besseggen ridge hike is considered Norway&#8217;s national hike and is an absolute must for every Norwegian. Besseggen is a mountain ridge in Jotunheimen National Park that separates Lake Gjende from Bessvatnet. The name \u2018Besseggen\u2019 means \u2018scythe ridge\u2019. The two lakes are separated by a land formation called Bandet, which is only about 50 metres wide. However, it is not the narrow ridge itself that is unique, but the difference in altitude between the two lakes of almost 400 metres. This immense difference is what makes this hike so attractive and can be seen particularly well in the picture.<br>After spending the night in the Memurubu hut, we set off early in the morning in the direction of our destination, Gjendeheim. This picture shows the view ahead to the Besseggen ridge, which was still ahead of us.
