Strahlendes Wetter und die Abwesenheit von Besuchermassen schenkten mir die n\u00f6tige Ruhe, um neue Blickwinkel und Perspektiven zu entdecken. Ein besonderes Motiv bot dabei der Stockenstieg: Ein historischer, nur etwa 45 Zentimeter breiter Klinkerweg, der durch die Salzwiesen zum Leuchtturm f\u00fchrt. 1929 erbaut, stellte er bis 1981 die einzige befestigte Verbindung zum Leuchtturm dar. Als letztes Zeugnis traditionellen friesischen Wegebaus steht der Stieg seit 1992 unter Denkmalschutz. Zwei Jahre nach dieser Aufnahme, im Jahr 1999, wurde er aufwendig instant gesetzt. Heute ist der Weg zum Schutz der Zugv\u00f6gel nur noch von Juni bis September f\u00fcr die \u00d6ffentlichkeit zug\u00e4nglich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10)\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-garamond-font-family has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);font-style:italic;font-weight:600\">Stockenstieg<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-garamond-font-family has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);font-style:italic;font-weight:400\"><br>Westerhever Lighthouse, North Frisia in Schleswig-Holstein, 1997<br><br>The Westerheversand Lighthouse is always worth a visit \u2013 and this was certainly the case on my second visit in February 1997. The glorious weather and the absence of crowds gave me the peace and quiet I needed to discover new angles and perspectives. The Stockenstieg provided a particularly striking subject: a historic clinker brick path, only about 45 centimetres wide, leading through the salt marshes to the lighthouse. Built in 1929, it was the only paved route to the lighthouse until 1981. As the last remaining example of traditional Frisian road construction, the path has been a listed monument since 1992. Two years after this photograph was taken, in 1999, it underwent extensive restoration.
